YMCA of Metro Milwaukee closes sales of Greenfield and Menomonee Falls facilities

The YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee has closed on the sale of two of its properties to the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County, according to state records.

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County purchased the Tri-County YMCA, located at N84 W17501 Menomonee Ave. in Menomonee Falls, for $2.3 million. The facility is on a 21.3-acre site.

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County also purchased the Southwest YMCA, located at 11311 W. Howard Ave. in Greenfield, for $4.6 million. The facility there is on a 21.4-acre site.

Additionally, the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee recently closed the sale of the Feith Family Ozaukee YMCA, located at 465 Northwoods Rd. in Port Washington, to the Kettle Moraine YMCA. The $2 million sale includes 21.5 acres.

The transactions are part of the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee’s strategic plan to overcome a $30 million debt. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the facilities will be used to pay off the organization’s debt.

The organization filed for bankruptcy in June and announced plans to sell most of its owned real estate assets as it tightens its mission to primarily serve residents of or very close to Milwaukee.
