A new drive-through holiday light display is coming to Boerner Botanical Gardens at Whitnall Park in Hales Corners.
Festival Pro LLC, the production company behind the popular China Lights lantern festival at Boerner Botanical Gardens, will put on the new Winter Wonders holiday light show, from Nov. 29 to Jan. 1.
Winter Wonders will take viewers on a 1.4-mile drive-through light show, featuring more than 80 displays set in the area surrounding the Boerner Botanical Gardens and the Root River Parkway. The show will run daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The show will integrate multiple display techniques from around the world, including 2D and 3D displays, animated displays and theatrical lighting giving washes of color to the trees of the arboretum, according to a news release.
In addition to traditional lighted trees, snowflakes and snowmen, the drive-through route includes displays representing the Middle East, Europe, North America and a display of “Santas of the world.” All displays use LED lighting. Visitors will also be able to tune their radios for holiday music as they drive along the route. Nightly attendance will be limited to 800 cars.
Tri City National Bank has signed on as the show’s presenting sponsor.
Boerner Botanical Gardens is currently hosting the China Lights
lantern festival for the fourth year. The festival was recently extended by a week to run through Oct. 27.
