Kevin Gallagher, operations project manager at Marcus Hotels and Resorts, is listed as the owner on the building permit, which calls for the interior build out of a restaurant on the lower level of the existing hotel with a standalone entrance at street level.
International Exports Chicago LLC applied for the liquor license on Oct. 11, and said it will do business under the name Safe House.
Tri-North Builders Inc., of Waukesha, is the general contractor on the project.
Marcus officials would not comment on the project.
"I cannot confirm the location of our next Safe House at this time," said Christine Williams, a spokesperson for Marcus Hotels.
Marcus Restaurant Group, a division of Marcus Corp.’s Marcus Hotels & Resorts, acquired Milwaukee’s famed Safe House Restaurant and Bar in June 2015.
