Cincinnati-based Phillips Edison & Company is spending $1.5 million on a parking lot reconfiguration project for Sendik’s Towne Center, a 189,000-square-foot lifestyle center located southwest of Capitol Drive and Brookfield Road in Brookfield.
“The common perception that people in the community have of this shopping center is that it’s difficult to navigate,” said Steve Johnson, director of operations for Phillips Edison. “This project will correct those confusing traffic patterns and provide superior ease of access to the businesses within the center, create a more pedestrian-friendly atmosphere and add 78 parking stalls to the site.”
Additional improvements planned for the shopping center include enhanced landscaping and directional signage.
Brookfield Towne Centre’s occupancy rate is at 88 percent, according to Phillips Edison.
Several outparcels on the property are being marketed for sale sand, “have recently generated interest from national users and local development groups,” the company said.
