The state Department of Revenue reports that equalized property value in Wisconsin fell 3.1 percent in 2009, to $495 billion.
Residential property values in the state fell by 3.5 percent and commercial property values fell 2.4 percent in 2009.
Almost every county, including all of the southeastern Wisconsin counties, had property value declines in 2009, according to the report. The equalized property value declines in southeastern Wisconsin were:
- Milwaukee, -5.14 percent
- Kenosha, -4.58 percent
- Racine, -4.29 percent
- Walworth, -3.88 percent
- Ozaukee, -3.55 percent
- Waukesha, -3.5 percent
- Sheboygan, -3.32 percent
- Washington, -3.02 percent
One of the few bright spots in the state was Outagamie County, which includes the Fox Cities, which had a slight increase in its equalized property value of 0.2 percent.
