West Allis-based Poblocki Paving Corp. has purchased the 7,000-square-foot former Department of Motor Vehicles building on a 3.1-acre site at 423 S. Curtis Road, which is located near its existing headquarters at 525 S. 116th St. Poblocki plans to use the property for equipment storage and repairs and may build a two-story, 9,000-square-foot office space addition for its new corporate headquarters. The total cost of the project is estimated at $1.2 million.
The company has four storage yards within a three block area and will consolidate down to two with the addition of the former DMV property. The company is running out of room at its existing yards, said owner John Poblocki.
“The (former DMV) building has a much bigger yard,” he said. “That’s what we really need. We have a lot of equipment.”
