Nominated organizations must be tax-exempt 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) organizations based in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Washington or Waukesha Counties. Chapters or affiliates of national organizations are also eligible for nomination if they are “locally managed and have separate chapter or affiliate financial information available,” according to the Nonprofit Center.

Individuals can submit nominations for nonprofits whether or not they are directly involved with its charitable efforts.

Individuals nominating an organization may only enter that organization into one award category. The Nonprofit Center will not grant multiple awards to a single organization.

Award nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, and consist of a form and a letter of support.
