Survey: Optimism growing among businesses in Milwaukee and Waukesha

Businesses in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties are slightly more optimistic about 2013 than they were heading into 2012, according to the First Business Economic Survey released Wednesday by First Business Bank-Milwaukee.

Major players developing downtown Oak Creek

The pieces of the massive Drexel Town Square development in Oak Creek are coming together, and several major players in the Milwaukee commercial real estate development industry will participate in the project, according to numerous sources.

REIT to buy second phase of Waukesha retail development

Farmington Hill, Mich.-based real estate investment trust Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust plans to purchase the second phase of the Shoppes at Fox River retail development in Waukesha, according to a real estate industry source. The deal includes 47,000 square feet of retail space occupied by TJ Maxx, Ulta, Rue and Charming Charlie’s, plus some undeveloped land, the source said.

Walmart plans to build new store in New Berlin

Walmart has submitted plans to build a 147,848-square-foot supercenter store on a 16-acre site at 15375 W. Greenfield Ave. in New Berlin. The Charcoal Grill restaurant at that location will be demolished to make way for the Walmart store.
