The owners of Walker’s Point restaurant Merriment Social, have hired a Chicago architectural firm to design their new restaurant, Third Coast Provisions, on Milwaukee Street.
CBD Architects is working on the space in the former Carnevor location at 724 N. Milwaukee St.
Business partners Andrew Miller, Cameron Whyte, and Samuel Emery are planning to open Third Coast Provisions, a seafood restaurant and oyster bar, later this year.
The three opened Merriment Social, 240 E Pittsburgh Ave., in the summer of 2015.
“We are beyond excited to bring an unparalleled experience to the table in Milwaukee in such a gorgeous space,” Miller, executive chef and partner, said in an email. “The overall goal in the aesthetic of the space was to transform it into a modern yet timeless style that fit with the seafood driven cuisine.”
Third Coast Provisions will be split into two restaurants, with a traditional seafood restaurant on the main floor and an oyster bar with a “casual, boisterous environment” in the basement.
“The goal is splitting the restaurant into two different styles of service,” Miller said. “The oyster bar will host awesome happy hour, late night, and casual dining experiences. The other will offer an approachable, yet innovative seafood driven dining experience.”
SURG Restaurant Group moved Carnevor Steakhouse Moderne to 718 N. Milwaukee St., which reopened on Jan. 27 after a brief hiatus.
