Leman, a Danish transport and logistics company, has completed a 99,100-square-foot expansion project in Sturtevant and plans on adding 36 jobs at that location.
With the completion of this warehouse expansion, which can accommodate more than 23,000 pallets, Leman is able to capitalize on the increasing domestic and international demand for their services, said Mikael Olesen, chief executive officer of Leman.
Leman employs 127 full time people across the United States including 52 at 1860 Renaissance Blvd., in Sturtevant, which is its U.S. headquarters.
“Leman is a perfect example of the entrepreneurial spirit thriving in Racine County,” said Steve Jansen, Sturtevant village president. “This company continues its growth by supporting other growing businesses through its warehousing and freight forwarding expertise as well as its administrative support provided to small international firms.”
Leman operates offices in Wisconsin, Illinois, California, New Jersey, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and Texas. Outside of the United States, Leman operates in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and the U.K.
To help secure the new jobs, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) approved Leman’s application for $150,000 in state tax credits.
