Ernst & Young LLP has named assurance partner David Gay as managing partner of its Milwaukee office, July 1.
Gay will be responsible for growing the practice and brand, managing resources, creating high-performing teams and providing client service in the Milwaukee market.
Gay succeeds Keith Burns, who will retire on June 30, 2015, after a 37-year career in public accounting. They will work together in the coming year as part of the planned leadership transition.
Gay brings 18 years of experience to clients across the Midwest, principally within the consumer and industrial products sectors. He has experience serving some of Wisconsin’s largest global organizations, both publicly traded and privately held, as well as providing technical guidance on numerous strategic transactions. In addition to his new leadership role, he will continue to serve as lead partner for several large clients of the Milwaukee practice.
“I am confident David will be the next successful leader of our Milwaukee practice,” said Rick Fezell, vice chair and Midwest managing partner of Ernst & Young LLP. “His commitment to quality service, combined with his inclusive leadership and commitment to the Milwaukee community, makes him an ideal fit to lead the practice that Keith has built during the last 10 years.”
“It is an honor to lead our Milwaukee practice,” Gay said. “I’m eager to work closely with our account teams to respond to the evolving needs of our clients, create new opportunities for our people and continue to make an impact in our broader community.”
