Robert W. Baird & Co. has hired Lance Lange as managing director of its Equity Capital Markets team. Lange, who previously had worked at Baird, will focus on Baird’s equity transaction business within the industrial and transportation and logistics sectors. Based at Baird’s headquarters in Milwaukee, he will work closely with Greg Ingram and Peter Kies, co-directors of Baird’s ECM Desk.
“Baird continues to invest in its Equity Capital Markets platform, and the addition of Lance is yet another example of that ongoing focus,” said Bill Mahler, chairman of ECM. “We see tremendous opportunity in the marketplace for Baird to provide its deep equity financing expertise and services to institutional clients. We are very excited to have Lance lend his talents and knowledge to this effort.”
The addition of Lange demonstrates Baird’s continued build out of its equity transaction business, which provides clients with financing options including initial public offerings (IPOs), follow-on offerings and Private Investment in Public Equities (PIPEs). Baird’s investments in the equity transaction business have resulted in a record 76 financing transactions in 2010 and 19 deals with more than $7.2 billion in dollar volume in the first quarter of 2011.
