Camping World buys Saukville site for RV store

Lincolnshire, Ill.-based Camping World, which claims to be the naiton’s largest recreational vehicle (RV) and outdoor retailer, said it has purchased a site in Saukville, where it will create a store to sell RVs and RV accessories.

The company declined to disclose the specific location of its Saukville property.

“At this time we are not releasing the exact location of the new SuperCenter (for competitive reasons) but it is off the freeway,” said Camping World spokeswoman Karen Porter. “Plans are to have it opened first quarter 2014. The location will be renovated to have a retail store, RV dealership and several service bays on site.”

The Saukville store will have 30 to 50 employees, Porter said.

Camping World has about 100 stores in the U.S., but its only other location in Wisconsin is in DeForest.
