Brewers Community Foundation donated $3.5 million during season

The Brewers Community Foundation (BCF) and the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club raised more than $3.5 million during the 2012 season, with support coming from Brewers ownership, fans, players and other sponsors.

A wide variety of special events and initiatives were staged during the season, including the Game Day 50/50 Raffles, the 5K Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk, BCF Week, An Evening With Hank Aaron, Pink Tie Guy/Step Up To The Plate in support of Breast Cancer Prevention and the Brewers Mini-Marathon

With the funds raised, BCF will provide support to more than 200 nonprofit organizations in the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs.

“Brewers players and fans have responded to the call that Mark and Debbie Attanasio made to give back to the community,” said Cecelia Gore, executive director of the foundation. “Our financial support generates needed dollars to support critical issues throughout Greater Milwaukee, and we are very impressed by the nonprofit organizations that are achieving positive outcomes.”

In addition, BCF and the Brewers Community Relations department has donated more than 12,000 items for auctions over the past year.
