BMO Harris Bank to sponsor ‘The Nutcracker’

BMO Harris Bank has announced plans to sponsor this year’s performance of “The Nutcracker” by the Milwaukee Ballet to ensure that the holiday tradition can take the stage for its 43rd year.

Kara Kaiser, regional president of BMO Harris Bank, announced the bank’s support for the Milwaukee Ballet alongside the ballet’s artistic director, Michael Pink, during a special event held in Red Arrow Park last week.

“We can’t wait to see the curtain rise this season,” Kaiser said during the event. “We are excited to share this tradition with all of you.”

According to Kaiser, the Milwaukee Ballet approached BMO Harris Bank with a sponsorship opportunity, which the bank was “thrilled” to accept.

Sponsoring the performing arts is very much in line with how the bank supports the community, Kaiser said.

“To have this opportunity in the city of Milwaukee with such deep family traditions and deep roots in Milwaukee is right up our alley with how we like to be a part of the city,” she said.

The Milwaukee Ballet’s performance of ‘The Nutcracker’ is made possible by both ticket revenue and corporate support from entities like BMO Harris Bank.

“Every time you see a billboard or a poster of the Milwaukee Ballet, I want you to really pay attention to those people who sponsor the arts in Milwaukee because without that kind of sponsorship it is impossible for us to continue to bring the quality product to the stage that we do,” Pink said.

According to Pink, more than 30,000 families will enjoy performances of “The Nutcracker” this winter, and the holiday tradition exists as the ballet’s largest annual production.

“When (audience members) think about ‘The Nutcracker,’ they will think about the support of BMO Harris,” Pink said.

BMO Harris has committed to sponsoring holiday performances this season and is evaluating a longer-term relationship with the Milwaukee Ballet.

Performances of ‘The Nutcracker’ will begin on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. Ticket specials will be on sale for the general public from Monday, Sept. 9, through Wednesday, Sept. 11.
