BizTech CEO Strategies keynote will address nonprofit success in today’s economy

Nonprofit executives are invited to attend the BizTech Conference and Expo’s annual CEO Strategies event featuring keynote speaker Kay Plantes. Plantes is an MIT Trained economist, business strategy consultant, columnist and author.
Plantes’ background includes a wide range of experience and expertise, including expertise on the economy and business consulting, providing executive management strategies for public and private companies and for nonprofit organizations. She also has state government, federal government and university experience.
Her book, Beyond Price provides leadership teams in for profit and nonprofit organizations, with a step-by-step guide to building a sustainable advantage in the marketplace, and fans say her unusual blend of visionary and business model innovation expertise has helped leaders see their markets through a new lens and has allowed them to make better strategy and execution decisions.
According to Jeanan Yasiri, executive director, UW- Madison Center for Nonprofits, Plantes was recently the key note speaker at an event designed to bring nonprofit executives board members and campus based professionals together to explore key issues impacting the nonprofit sector.
“Kay mixes a beautiful complement of business savvy with research knowledge while inserting interesting questions and examples that keep her audience engaged and wanting more,” Yasiri said.
At this years, CEO strategies breakfast, Plantes will offer insights on how for profit and nonprofit organizations can survive in a post recession economy.
“Every industry has a Wal-Mart, the lowest cost competitor. If you can’t be your industry’s Wal-Mart, avoid becoming its Sears. Differentiate your company around hard-to-copy benefits that really matter,” Plantes said.
