MSO to relocate its offices

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra will move its office space from the 700 N. Water St. building at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Water Street in downtown Milwaukee to the Blatz Wash House building at 1101 N. Market St., in the former Blatz brewery complex downtown.

The MSO will occupy about 10,000 square feet of space in the 120-year-old Blatz Wash House building, which is owned by SSG Properties LLC.
The lease was brokered by Michael Streit and Dan Jessup of Grubb & Ellis|Apex Commercial, who represented MSO, and Joe Lak and Lyle Landowski of Inland Companies, who represented SSG.

Inland Construction was hired to build out the office space for MSO, remodel the building’s lobby and to convert the lower level space of the building from office space indoor indoor parking.

“(With the improvements) that building, I think, instantly becomes one of the nicer buildings in that part of downtown,” Landowski said.

By eliminating the first floor office space, the building will have 40,000 square feet of office space. About 30,000 square feet is available to lease, including 10,000 currently occupied by a data center, Landowski said.
