Jim Sullivan received the endorsements of two local labor unions for his campaign to be the next Milwaukee County executive.
Sullivan, a former Democratic state senator from Wauwatosa, received the backing this week of AFSCME Local 48 and International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) District Council 7.
"Jim Sullivan is the only candidate in the race for County Executive with a record of standing up for public employees," said AFSCME Council 48 executive director Rich Abelson. "He stands out from the field by taking a strong stance against the privatization of county services and against the 26 furlough days which are taking valuable services from the people of Milwaukee."
“I am confident that Jim will bring the skill set and leadership the Milwaukee County Executive position has been lacking for the last 7 years,” said John Jorgensen, business manager and secretary-treasurer of IUPAT District Council 7.
