Downtown law firm relocates
Downtown Milwaukee law firm Peterson, Johnson & Murray S.C. recently moved from 733 N. Van Buren St. to 788 N. Jefferson St. The Van Buren Street building was sold to Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., which will house some of its employees there while it tears down a building on its downtown campus and builds a new structure in its place. Peterson, Johnson & Murray has 60 employees in its downtown Milwaukee office.
Soldiers Home a National Treasure
The cluster of historic buildings known as the Soldiers Home on the campus of the Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee has been named at National Treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The designation means that the National Trust, working with the Milwaukee Preservation Alliance, elected officials, local preservationists and veterans’ organizations, is committed to a long-term effort to restore the buildings to active use to serve area veterans.
Nursing home planned in Slinger
Westlake Village, Calif.-based LTC Properties Inc. plans to build a 106-bed skilled nursing facility on a 5.6-acre vacant parcel of land in Slinger to replace its existing 106-bed skilled nursing facility there. In November the company originated a $10.6 million construction loan to affiliates of SCI Construction Ltd., a developer of skilled nursing homes.

The Buildings Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Wisconsin recently announced the winners of its annual The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) award winners.
