Illinois again near bottom for business-friendliness, CEO survey says

Illinois remained mired near the bottom of a national survey of the best states for business, rapped once again for its corporate tax rate.

The state came in 48th on the 2012 list of Best States for Business, released today by Chief Executive magazine. Illinois has fallen 40 places in the past six years in what one unnamed executive said was a “race to the bottom.”

The magazine said Illinois’ “new tax burdens drive business-unfriendliness to new lows.”
