Kinateder Masonry

When Fred Kinateder Sr. and four partners opened Kinateder Masonry in 1990, Kinateder had worked his way up the ladder by working construction in high school from being a bricklayer, an estimator and then a project manager.

Starting his own business, he didn’t envision that he would someday have a company with $20 million in annual revenues and 200 employees.

“The only goal was to be the best of class, the best masonry contractor and we figured that way the volume and growth would take care of itself. It’s worked out that way, and we’re still using that same model,” said Kinateder, the president and chief executive officer of the company.

Nearly 20 years later, Kinateder Masonry continues to expand. After extensive nationwide market research, the company recently opened an office in Kansas City. Further national growth may come in the future, but right now the company is looking to expand regionally out of the two markets they are in right now.

According to Kinateder, the company is doing everything it can to stay competitive in an industry that has seen some struggle to stay afloat during the recession.

The company’s highly skilled work force makes sure that the quality of their product will not be compromised, he said.

“We’re continuing to do the things that make us strong,” Kinateder said. “Which are producing a product on time, keeping it within a customer’s budget and having it be a quality product.”
