Open houses planned for U.S. Postal Service project

Milwaukee-based Cobalt Partners will host two open houses for residents to learn about the proposed United States Postal Service mail processing and distribution center in Oak Creek. Cobalt Partners assembled a 64-acre site southwest of College and Pennsylvania avenues and is selling it to the Postal Service, which will build a 820,000-square-foot building to replace most of its downtown Milwaukee operations.

The open houses about the Oak Creek project will be Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Monday, June 16, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both will be at Comfort Suites, 6362 S. 13th St., Oak Creek. The events will have a variety of displays and experts to address important aspects of the proposed project. There will not be a formal presentation – visitors can arrive at the open houses anytime and stay as long as desired.

"When we announced the proposed site for this project, we promised to fully share details with the public," said Scott Yauck, a principal with Cobalt Partners. ‘These open houses are an opportunity for residents of Oak Creek and surrounding communities to learn about the proposed USPS facility and have their questions and concerns addressed."
