The owners, Chuck Biller, Tony Janowiec and Joshua Krsnak, and Kubala Washatko Architects Inc. will present plans and renderings at “Unveiling the Grand Vision”
on April 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the Plankinton Building as part of YP Week. The mall has struggled in recent years and has changed hands several times. Last month, the owners unveiled a project team
tasked with transforming the Grand Avenue into a premier destination.
Newaukee’s 2016 YP Week will take place in 15 communities statewide from April 23 to 30. The program, launched by the Milwaukee organization locally in 2012, expanded to other areas of Wisconsin in 2014. It aims to instill a sense of hometown pride and ownership among young professionals.
YP Week’s more than 150 events focus on issues that resonate with young professionals and incorporate learning, discussion and social interaction. Milwaukee events range from discussions on company culture, the state of downtown and climate change, to a spring river cleanup and a Brewers tailgate. The calendar of events is available at www.ypweek.com/calendar/2016
Newaukee will also honor the recipients of its Bubbler Awards
, which recognize the best places to work for young professionals in Wisconsin, on April 23.
“YPWeek Wisconsin establishes a framework for existing and emerging young professionals throughout the state to collaborate and brand Wisconsin as a workplace destination for all Millennials,” said Angela Damiani, CEO of NEWaukee. “The excitement that is mounting with the new cities coming aboard and the willingness to work towards a single goal proves that folks are hungry and ready for this type of platform. Wisconsin only stands to gain with this united front.”
