Pewaukee-based plumbing, electrical and HVAC contractor Total Mechanical Inc. has acquired Wauwatosa metal fabricator AG Industries/Winkler Blast Gates LLC.
The business was sold Oct. 31 for an undisclosed price to Total Mechanical owner, president and chief executive officer Dennis Braun by Dennis and Pamela Doege, who will exit the business.
AG Industries makes regenerative thermal oxidizers, blast gates, ball joints, nozzles and custom metal products. It was founded in 1893 as the Alfred Goethel Sheet Metal Co. and has four employees, who will join Total Mechanical.
Total Mechanical, which has about 250 employees, formed a new entity, AGI LLC, to integrate the new business, which will retain its branding. Total Mechanical will move its commercial and industrial shop fabrication division and its 23 employees from its 60,000-square-foot Pewaukee shop to AGI’s 36,000-square-foot facility in Wauwatosa, where there are higher bays and bigger cranes, Braun said. Thomas Jacobi has been promoted to vice president and general manager of AGI LLC.
He expects to quadruple revenues at AGI over the next year, Braun said. Together, the companies can expand their commercial and industrial shop fabrication capabilities.
“There’s a lot of synergies between the two companies that we feel we can expand the current opportunities and sales at AGI,” Braun said. “Transferring our industrial manufacturing capabilities to AGI, allows Total to focus on and expand its core business units which consist of its Commercial HVAC, Industrial, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Environmental Services and Residential Divisions.”
