“I am excited and extremely honored,” Kay said.
Kay succeeds Richard Galling who had served as president and COO since 2003. Galling will remain on the Hammes Company board of directors.
Jon Hammes remains the chairman and chief executive officer of Hammes Company, a health care real estate firm that also has a sports facility unit.
Kay has more than 30 years of project management, operations and business development experience in the building industry. He has spent the past 17 years of his career exclusively focused in the health care and life sciences markets.
Previously, Kay was managing principal of the national health care practice for Jacobs Engineering Group, working in the firm’s Houston office.
“This is an energizing time in the health care industry – and especially at Hammes Company, as we engage in navigating the numerous transitions of the health care reform revolution while focusing on growing the enduring strengths of our core brand,” Kay said.
