Fresenius Medical Care, the world's largest kidney dialysis provider, has
submitted plans to build a one-story, 9,800-square-foot dialysis center on a vacant site along the Kinnickinnic River at 2600 W. Howard Ave. on Milwaukee's south side.

FMC is controlled by the German health care group
Fresenius SE & Co. and currently operates six dialysis centers in the Milwaukee area. Building designs will be reviewed by the City Plan Commission on Aug. 15.
An FMC representative was not immediately available for comment.
FMC is expecting major revenue growth this year. OnÂ
Aug. 2, Reuters reported FMC was targeting 15 to 20 percent growth in adjusted net income after second quarter net income rose 22 percent to $294 million. The company said its revenue was boosted this year by a higher Medicare reimbursement rate.
