Bowls, a health-focused fast-casual restaurant in Walker's Point will soon operate a location at the Mequon Public Market, which is set to open early this year at the Spur 16 project, Shaffer Development LLC announced today.
The restaurant, which first opened in 2017 at 207 W. Freshwater Way, offers a variety of smoothie-, grain- and green-based meals served as bowl-style dishes.
Owner Andy Larson said he was drawn to the Spur 16 project by its high-quality design and roster of tenants.
"It also is a perfect opportunity for Bowls to expand its reach to the north and bring in a wider base of everyday and catering customers,” he said.

Larson also owns Float Milwaukee LLC, a sensory deprivation flotation tank business in Walker's Point.
Bowls will join Anodyne Coffee, Beans and Barley, Purple Door Ice Cream, Café Corazon, Bavette La Boucherie, Screaming Tuna and Happy Dough Lucky as tenants at the 10,000-square-foot Mequon Public Market.
The space is 100 percent leased and will house about 10 vendors, said Cindy Shaffer, owner of Shaffer Development. The market is slated to open during the first quarter of the year.
St. Paul Fish Company will operate a restaurant adjacent to the market.
Spur 16 will include a 5,000-square-foot public wellness center that will house Club Pilates Mequon and Yama Yoga.
The project’s ten townhomes will be completed this month, with occupancy available by February. Three buildings with a total of 146 apartment units will be available for occupancy in June.
The development also includes a clubhouse space that will be available exclusively for those who reside at Spur 16. It will include a pool, gathering area with a community kitchen and event space, and a workout facility with Peloton bikes.
