Landmark Credit Union is planning to open a new branch at the site of a former 7-Eleven store on Bluemound Road in the town of Brookfield.

The credit union closed on the purchase of the vacant building on a 1-acre parcel at 19600 W. Bluemound Road on Friday, a spokeswoman with Landmark confirmed. The property was purchased from 7-Eleven Inc. for $1.85 million, according to state records.
Waukesha County assesses the land at a little more than $1.3 million.
At that site, Landmark will build a roughly 4,000-square-foot free-standing branch. The new location will feature amenities such as multiple drive-up lanes, a drive-up ATM and private offices.
The new branch is expected to be open next winter.
“Continuing to add full service branches plays an important role in how we deliver our unique combination of better rates, lower fees, trusted advice and straightforward options that support our members everyday financial needs and long-term goals,” Jay Magulski, president and CEO of Landmark, said in a statement.
The site of the proposed new Landmark branch, at the corner of West Bluemound Road and North Janacek Road, is less than a half-mile from The Corners of Brookfield, a 750,000-square-foot retail, restaurant and apartment development. The $200 million development opened in April 2017.
New Berlin-based Landmark confirmed its plans for the new branch about a month after announcing it was considering a site
in the city of Brookfield to serve as a new headquarters building. The building at 555 S. Executive Drive, is roughly 3 miles from the planned branch on Bluemound Road. The credit union said it is in the early stages of due diligence on the potential new headquarters, adding that it aims to create a workspace outfitted with modern technology, employee amenities and collaboration areas that can be expanded later to accommodate its growth.
