The United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County announced Wednesday night it had elected Greg Marcus, president and CEO of the Marcus Corp., to succeed Lubar & Co. president and CEO David Lubar as chairman of its board of directors.

The organization also elected 11 new members to the board and recruited four co-chairs to run its 2016 Community Campaign.
Those co-chairs โ Larry Blanton, senior vice president and general manager of MetalTek International; Jacqueline Herd-Barber, community volunteer; Richard Meeusen, chairman, president & CEO of Badger Meter, Inc.; and Steven SaLoutos, executive vice president of U.S. Bank โ will run the organizationโs annual fundraising campaign. The 2015 campaign raised more than $60 million.
โWe are honored to have four incredibly talented and committed individuals to lead our 2016 community campaign,โ said Mary Lou Young, United Way president and CEO. โThese community leaders will be a driving force to continue to lead critical change in our four-county region.โ
Hereโs how each co-chair reacted to being selected to run the campaign:
Jacqueline Herd-Barber: โThe key to social change in the Greater Milwaukee area is how we work together. โWith the help of United Way, we engage everyday people to be a part of this change.โ
Larry Blanton: โI am ready to do what is necessary to ensure the success of the community campaign across the four-county region. Only when we work together do we Live United. Big challenges canโt be solved by working in silos.โ
Richard Meeusen: โI believe in United Way. They see the vision of everyone getting what they need โ those building blocks for a good life โ education, income and health. Iโm happy and excited to be a part of United Way and help fulfill that mission.โ
Steven SaLoutos: โOur community will only prosper and grow if all families are financially stable. Being from the banking industry allows me to bring a unique perspective on how to bring about change for those who may be struggling to meet their basic needs. I am up to the challenge to help ignite change in our community.โ
