Taking care of our employees so they can take care of Veterans

Thought Leadership: Flourishing Pledge

Provides housing and supportive services for Veterans and their families.

How does your organization prioritize and promote happiness and life satisfaction among employees?

Center for Veterans Issues Inc., is an accommodating, family-first organization where we strive to maintain a work-life balance. We consciously provide great benefits, including the addition of a paid holiday to the 13 already observed as an incentive for self-care. We regularly treat our staff to professional sporting events such as Brewers and Bucks games, which provide opportunities to come together.

What steps does your company take to help employees find meaning and purpose in their work?

As part of our mission to improve the lives of Veterans in need, our work has meaning and purpose. From onboarding employees and throughout their careers, we remind them that they can have a significant impact, even in the smallest of victories. They are often the pebble that starts a ripple effect across a pond.

What strategies or benefits does your organization provide to ensure the financial and material stability of your employees?

As a non-profit organization, one of the great benefits that we have recently added for our employees is a 401(k) with a match. We have a 92 percent participation rate, which is greater than the average participation rate of 81 percent. By providing this benefit to our employees, we invest in their futures.
