, compared 11 metrics among nearly 3,000 U.S. hospitals, including Medicare cost reports, performance data and patient surveys. Truven has been conducting annual studies to determine top performing U.S. hospitals since 1993.
In a statement released Wednesday, Froedtert Hospital President Cathy Buck called the ranking “especially meaningful” since the hospital “treats many seriously ill patients who require complex care.”
“This honor underscores our value to Milwaukee, the state and the region as a resource for high-quality, cost-effective, appropriate care,” Buck said.
Other Wisconsin hospitals to be honored were Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, UnityPoint-Meriter Hospital in Madison, Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers and Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
Froedtert & MCW is categorized by Truven as a major teaching hospital. There were 14 other major teaching hospitals that made the list.
