Ramsés Alvaréz

Mason Street Grill, a member of the Marcus® Restaurants Group, announced today that it has appointed Ramsés Alvaréz to executive chef. In his new position, Alvaréz will oversee the entire culinary operation of Mason Street Grill.

Alvaréz joins Mason Street Grill from Water Street Brewery, where he served as corporate chef of the company’s four gastro pubs since 2011. Prior to that position he served as chef de cuisine for La Merenda in Milwaukee, Wis. His career highlights include serving as executive chef for numerous Milwaukee-area restaurants including Juniper 61, The Social, Room 434 and Sol Fire. His culinary career also includes working at award-winning Milwaukee restaurants including Lake Park Bistro, Coquette Café and Sanford Restaurant, where he trained under Sanford D’Amato.

“Ramsés’ over 15 years of culinary expertise and creative passion will be a perfect fit for Mason Street Grill. With Ramsés leading our culinary team I am confident he will maintain the quality of excellence that customers have come to expect from our award-winning restaurant,” said Serkan Yorulmaz, general manager of Mason Street Grill.

Alvaréz is a monthly instructor for Superior Equipment & Supply’s “Cook Like a Chef” program and volunteers for the Milwaukee Empty Bowls project which raises money for hunger programs in the Milwaukee community and Flavors of Wisconsin, an annual benefit for the American Liver Foundation.
