Patrick McSweeney

Mortenson Safar Kim, Milwaukee, has hired Patrick McSweeney as its vice president of public relations. MSK is a full-service marketing communications agency serving a broad range of clients from its offices in Milwaukee and Indianapolis. McSweeney will work out of the firm’s Milwaukee office.

“Patrick brings a varied background and externsive experience that will greatly benefit our clients,“ said Chris Mortenson, MSK’s CEO. “He is well respected here in Wisconsin and nationally as a public relations strategist, counselor to senior executives and crisis communications specialist.”

McSweeney most recently was a vice president at Laughlin Constable, working primarily from its Milwaukee office. Prior to that, he worked at Jacksonville, Fla.-based St. John & Partners and also was spokesperson for a state environmental agency in Florida. Earlier in his career he worked as a journalist at newspapers, radio and TV stations in Florida and Ohio. He earned a degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University.

McSweeney will be president-elect of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) chapter in Southeastern Wisconsin next year. He has been active in PRSA for more than 25 years and was inducted into PRSA’s prestigious College of Fellows last year. The College is an honorary organization within PRSA comprised of 350 senior members who have advanced the public relations profession and distinguished themselves through their experience and leadership in the industry. It is an honor fewer than two percent of PRSA members earn.
