Nancy Major

Nancy Major, a prominent nonprofit executive with an extensive background in leadership, management and business operations, has joined Stillwaters Cancer Support Center as its new executive director.

Major is responsible for the operational and strategic efforts of Stillwaters, a nonprofit organization that provides professional, compassionate counseling and support services to individuals affected by cancer and those who love them. Its community-based services are offered through hospitals and clinics at health systems throughout southeastern Wisconsin, and at the Stillwaters center, 2607 N. Grandview Blvd., Suite 108.

Major served as president and CEO of Waukesha-based Safe Babies Healthy Families for eight years, expanding the organization’s service reach and greatly raising its public profile. She has broad experience in executive leadership, operational restructuring, strategic planning, program development, and sales and marketing, among many other qualifications.

Major’s professional background includes work in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, including several in health care. She has managed companies of varying sizes, owned and sold businesses, and led large regional chapters affiliated with United Cerebral Palsy and Special Olympics.
