Megan Tanel of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is the 2017 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE). Tanel is senior vice president, exhibitions and events of AEM, the Milwaukee-based international business trade group for the off-road equipment manufacturing industry.
The award recognizes IAEE members’ extraordinary service and contributions that have furthered the growth and development of IAEE and the exhibitions industry.
Tanel is a past IAEE chair and has served on its Board of Directors since 2010. She received the IAEE Woman of Achievement Award in 2017.
Tanel’s 20-plus-year AEM career includes show director of the Association’s CONEXPO-CON/AGG exhibition for the construction industries, one of the largest exhibitions of its kind in the world, as well as show director for ICUEE-The Demo Expo and World of Asphalt exhibitions. She is also a member of AEM’s senior leadership team.
