Cardinal Stritch University is proud to announce that Dr. Mark Gesner has accepted the position of executive director of academic and community engagement.
In this role, Gesner is responsible for supporting the implementation and sustainability of the University’s academic identity, including a focus on community partnerships, engaged learning, and innovation.
In his previous role as faculty chair for community engaged learning and leadership, Gesner’s passion, experience and scholarship led to many beneficial campus-community partnerships that enabled students to become productive local and global citizens. As an assistant professor in the College of Business and Management, his curriculum development and teaching focus on civic engagement, leadership, organizational development and cross cultural management.
Gesner earned a bachelor’s degree in rhetoric and communication from the State University of New York at Albany; a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education; and a doctoral degree from Cardinal Stritch University.
