HGA Architects and Engineers, Milwaukee, has hired James Knoerr, PE, as associate vice president and electrical department head.
He will direct business development, operations and electrical practice for the growing Electrical Engineering department in collaboration with the Mechanical, Structural and Energy & Infrastructure groups.
Knoerr has 30 years of professional electrical engineering experience. His expertise includes lighting, emergency power systems, fire alarm systems, controls, energy code compliance, construction administration and project management.
“Jim brings a fresh perspective to our electrical team as we continue to expand our integrated engineering services in Milwaukee and firm-wide,” said Director of Engineering Leigh Harrison, PE. “He is well regarded throughout the Milwaukee engineering profession, and we are excited to add his experience and insight to our group.”
Before joining HGA, Knoerr was with Dolan & Dustin, where he was Vice President and Principal overseeing marketing, business operations and electrical engineering for the consulting engineering firm.
Knoerr is a licensed Professional Engineer. He has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Valparaiso University.
