SEEK Careers/Staffing, Grafton, was conferred a 2016 American Staffing Association Care Award honorable mention distinction. This national awards program recognizes outstanding corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives—business processes that produce an overall positive effect on society—among ASA member staffing firms, associate members (staffing industry suppliers), and regional councils and affiliated chapters.
SEEK Careers/Staffing was honored for Project Reboot, an initiative which matches job applicants in need of steel-toed boots with pairs which have been donated to local SEEK branches. Over 1000 pairs of boots have been donated through Project Reboot and over 500 have been re-booted to needy employees. Project Reboot is part of SEEK’s ongoing commitment to service the success of others in its communities by helping people realize their career goals, earn stable incomes and build their confidence.
“Our District Leader, Geni Galbraith, noticed a need for steel-toed boots in our Green Bay office. For years, SEEK employees had been purchasing boots on their own to give to employees in need, but the demand became so high that Geni started Project Reboot. She approached clients and charities in the community and donations began pouring in. It soon expanded to include all SEEK offices and has been a success ever since,” said Sara Luchsinger, Vice President of Operations of SEEK Careers/Staffing.
The ASA Care Awards honor CSR initiatives that involve employee training and professional development, community engagement, “green” business practices, philanthropy, and more. A panel of CSR experts select the honorees.
The ASA Care Award honorees will be celebrated at Staffing World® 2016, the ASA convention and expo, Oct. 25-27, in San Diego, CA.
