A 2,700-square-foot Panda Express restaurant is planned in the Drexel Town Square development in Oak Creek.
Panda Express is a Rosemead, Calif.-based chain of Chinese restaurants with 1,644 locations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Panda Express currently has eight locations in southeastern Wisconsin at: the Shops of Grand Avenue in downtown Milwaukee, South 27th Street in Milwaukee, Miller Park Way in West Milwaukee, Bayshore Town Center in Glendale, South 76th Street in Greendale, Germantown, Racine and Pleasant Prairie.
The site for the Oak Creek Panda Express is at 8041 S. Howell Ave., which is at the far southeast corner of Drexel Town Square. It will be located just north of the Sonic restaurant at 8081 S. Howell Ave. The plans for Panda Express will be reviewed next week by the Oak Creek Plan Commission.
Drexel Town Square is an 85-acre mixed-use development, at the former Delphi plant site southwest of Drexel and Howell avenues, that will create a downtown for Oak Creek. It will be built by a team of developers, led by Wispark LLC, and will include a 192,000-square-foot Meijer store, a 108-room Four Points by Sheraton hotel, several restaurants, a health care and fitness component, 500 to 600 upscale apartments, a mixed-use Main Street, a town square park and a new City Hall and library.
Water Street Brewery will build a restaurant at the corner of Drexel and Howell in Drexel Town Square.
