Kristin McManmon, president of Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine, is a community-focused leader. Under her leadership, Ascension implemented a program, known as Rise Up, to support mothers or caregivers who have young children and are interested in pursuing careers in health care at All Saints.
Rise Up is a cohort model that brings motivated individuals together to gain the education and training needed to work toward high-demand careers at Ascension, while engaging in group learning experiences, job shadowing, one-on-one coaching and financial wellness support.
As a single mother herself, McManmon has shared her experience and listened to the barriers these associates have faced in their career journey.
“Less than two years ago, Kristin discovered she had an aggressive form of breast cancer,” said Jeff Neubauer, executive director of Higher Expectations for Racine County, noting that McManmon began her cancer treatment while leading three hospitals as incident commander through another surge of COVID-19.
“She continued to lead with a calm and steady hand,” said Neubauer. “She prayed to find purpose in her diagnosis.”
