Second, we implement education programs and produce informative materials for those affected by the disease, for the public and for medical professionals. Schools That Can Milwaukee
Schools That Can Milwaukee (STCM) works to close the Milwaukee achievement gap by increasing the number of high-quality schools available to all students in our community. STCM believes Milwaukee needs a tipping point, a critical number of excellent schools of every type -- MPS, private Choice, and independent charter -- to serve as examples of what is possible.nnWe believe a strong leader is the linchpin of a high-quality school. Schools need a strong leader to set a vision, attract and develop talented teachers, and implement best practices. That's why we are pursuing 3 strategic Pathways that invest in school leaders: Expand high-quality schools; Develop high-potential schools into high-quality schools; and Recruit & grow school leadership talent.

The Grace Foundation
The Grace Foundation has helped thousands of women and children with cancer through a number of different ways. Our Glad Hatter program provides beautiful, handmade hats to cancer patients. The Grace Space which opened at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-St. Joseph in 2004, provides added support through a warm, welcoming oasis in an otherwise clinical environment. In addition, the foundation provides monetary gifts on an individual case basis to help individuals and families living with this deadly disease.nnAll Grace Foundation board members and Kathy's Garden Party Committee members donate their time and talents. One-hundred percent of contributions and proceeds from our events are used to support our mission.nnAs our resources allow, The Grace Foundation makes monetary and other gifts to those battling cancer to help ease their struggle. While we don't actively solicit applications for funding, we do make grants on an individual case basis. Following are a few examples of how we have offered hope to those in need:nn*A Wauwatosa family was struggling with mounting financial stress when bone cancer touched their lives. When it seemed like things couldn't get much worse, their only car broke down and was beyond repair. The Grace Foundation purchased a car for the family, alleviating a major worry in their lives.n*After beating breast cancer nine years prior, a Hartland mother was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Her only hope was a stem cell transplant, which her insurance deemed experimental and denied. The Grace Foundation was one of many individuals and groups who contributed to her medical fund so she could have the procedure.n*A single Milwaukee-area mother was battling cancer and facing the overwhelming financial and emotional effects of the disease. The Grace Foundation purchased grocery store gift cards, giving the family a year's worth of groceries to eliminate one worry for this mom.nnWe hope that our gifts made a difference in their lives.
