Waukesha-based Generac Holdings Inc. has completed the previously announced acquisition of German manufacturer Motortech Holding GmbH & Co. KG.
The terms of the acquisition, which had been pending regulatory approval, have not yet been disclosed in Generac’s public filings.
Generac, founded in 1959, manufactures power generation equipment and other engine powered products for the residential, light commercial and industrial sectors. It has 4,000 employees globally, 850 of whom are based in Waukesha.
Motortech, founded in 1988, makes gaseous-engine control systems and accessories that are sold to European gas-engine manufacturers and aftermarket customers. It has more than 250 employees, spread among at its headquarters in Celle, Germany, its manufacturing plant in Poland, and its U.S. and Chinese sales offices.
Generac confirmed this morning that Motortech’s current management team will continue to lead the business now that the acquisition is complete, and that all of Motortech’s employees will remain onboard in the same locations in the integration.
