Mercy Housing Lakefront Live in Hope Reception

This annual event celebrates the empowerment of Milwaukee area residents through safe housing and services. During this year’s reception, Mercy Housing Lakefront and attendees will celebrate the 125th anniversary of St. Catherine Residence Hall, which has built a legacy of empowering thousands of women in Milwaukee by providing safe housing and services that help them build skills and greater self-confidence.

During the event, Mercy Housing Lakefront will present its first Live in Hope Awards, recognizing the contributions of community members and supporters that have made a significant impact. This year’s award recipients are:

  • Carole Meekins, anchor/reporter for TMJ4: Meekins will receive the Sister of Mercy Spirit of Mercy Award, which recognizes an individual or group for the lifetime achievement related to Mercy Housing Lakefront’s mission of building healthy communities.
  • Friends of St. Catherine Residence: This group will receive the Volunteer Service Award, which recognizes an individual or group who has made a substantial contribution to Mercy Housing Lakefront via sharing their time, talent and resources.

Barbara Markoff, Community Development Relationship Manager at Huntington National Bank, will emcee the event. Attendees will also hear from three St. Catherine’s residents who will share their experiences and the impact safe, affordable housing opportunities had on their lives. Daync Studio Milwaukee will provide entertainment with a dance performance.
