Milwaukee Education Spotlight

Be Part of Shaping Education in Milwaukee and Your Future Workforce

To learn more about the challenges that Milwaukee educators are facing and about what is working for education in the city, BizTimes Media hosted its inaugural Education Spotlight event on February 23, 2023. The purpose of the event was to encourage business leaders to get involved in efforts to improve education in Milwaukee.high-performing schools and the great work occurring with many of Milwaukee’s charter, choice and public schools as they are preparing our future workforce.

BizTimes Media’s Milwaukee Education Spotlight event connected high-performing schools in Milwaukee and their leaders with the broader business community in the region. It featured education and business leaders and schools that are having success across education sectors. They shared insights about what works, existing challenges and how businesses can become more involved.

Topics discussed included:

Academic performance, board development, Choice, Charter, high performing MPS, employer partnerships, funding, teacher development, trades & stem, volunteers, tutors, and more.

Program elements included:

  • A presentation on the state of education in the city
  • Presentations from education and business leaders
  • Focused discussions offering a deep dive on successful models
  • Networking, introductions and action steps to support and get involved
