As professor and chair of the occupational therapy department at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, Kari Inda, Ph.D., teaches courses in neuroscience, neurorehabilitation, orthopedics, physical medicine and kinesiology.
“She brings her wealth of professional experience in adult physical disabilities rehabilitation to the classroom, helping students become compassionate caregivers,” said Karen Friedlen, vice president for academic affairs at Mount Mary.
Inda is also a Mount Mary alum, having earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees there.
In 2024, Inda led the development of the CulturaBot project, an app designed to provide culturally sensitive and inclusive health care to traditionally marginalized and underrepresented populations. The project was supported by the Amazon Web Services Health Equity Initiative and uses generative artificial intelligence to source information from reliable, research-backed open sources.
Inda was recognized by Mount Mary with its Teaching Excellence Award in 2018-2019 and 2004-2005 and its Heritage Award in 2014. She was also recognized by Milwaukee Area Technical College faculty with its Local 212 Alumni Excellence Award in 2012.
