William R. Tisdale is the president and CEO of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council, Milwaukee. Tisdale was hired as the Council’s first housing counselor in June 1978 and coordinated counseling and investigative services. In April 1981, he assumed the responsibilities of CEO.
Tisdale has served as a fair housing consultant for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Wisconsin Equal Rights Division, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, the Minnesota Human Rights Commission, The Urban Institute, and National Fair Housing Alliance.
He also serves on the board of Arts@Large and is a member of Associated Bank’s Community Advisory Council. In 2010, Tisdale was appointed to the Wisconsin State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, where he continues to serve.
