Milwaukee-based von Briesen & Roper S.C. has added Neenah-based law firm Hesson & Birtch LLC.
Hesson & Birtch, which focused on business, real estate, estate planning and probate, ceased operations on Dec. 1 and the attorneys and staff of Hesson & Birtch joined von Briesen on Dec. 3.
The attorneys are Grant Birtch, Jeffrey Hesson and Gerald Rammer. They will continue to work out of the Neenah office at 244 E. Doty Ave., and no changes are planned to the operations, a von Briesen spokeswoman said.
Birtch, a shareholder, focuses on estate planning, probate, real estate and corporate law. He has worked at Hesson & Birtch since 1998. Birtch holds a law degree from the University of Wisconsin and a bachelor’s from Beloit College. He is an active member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and a past president of the Winnebago Bar Association.
Hesson, a shareholder, focuses on general business planning; organizing, acquiring and selling businesses; contract review and drafting; risk analysis and planning, among others. He is also a CPA in Wisconsin and Arizona, and earlier in his career was a tax attorney at Price Waterhouse. Hesson founded Hesson & Birtch in 1991. He holds a law degree from Marquette University and a bachelor’s from University of Wisconsin.
Rammer, counsel, is focused on estate planning, estate administration and tax. Prior to private practice, he was a tax attorney for Kimberly-Clark Corp. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Rammer holds a law degree and a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Wisconsin.
von Briesen now has 192 attorneys at 11 offices in three states, and provides legal services for individuals, businesses and institutions in a variety of specialties.
