Tozer to head new soccer academy

Following his departure from the Milwaukee Wave after a 21 year-run as head coach, Keith Tozer has announced plans to start his own soccer academy in June.

The K. Tozer Soccer Academy will encompass soccer leagues, camps and training throughout the summer at locales in southeastern Wisconsin.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to bring my extensive experience as a player and coach to the community that has been such a huge part of my success,” said Tozer, who is also the current U.S. Futsal National Team head coach and owner of a motivational company called Teamwork Concepts. “I look forward to working one on one with passionate young athletes as I transition to the next phase of my career.”

Tozer’s academy, which will be sponsored by Delafield-based Legends of the Field, will serve youth ages 4-15 with tournaments, leagues, team training, goal-keeping camps, personal training, coaching education and more. The league will be open to kids of all skill levels, according to Tozer.

The Milwaukee Wave on Friday announced that it would be parting ways with Tozer under a restructuring plan. According to the indoor soccer team, the split was an amicable one. The Wave is currently looking for a new league to join as its former league, the Major Indoor Soccer League, faces resignations from several teams.
