Foley & Lardner LLP has added Peter Tomasi to the firm’s Environmental Regulation practice as of counsel in the Milwaukee office.
Tomasi’s practice focuses on environmental regulatory compliance for businesses within the energy and health care industries. With more than 15 years of litigation and counseling experience across all areas of environmental law, Tomasi has assisted clients in matters involving renewable energy financing; mergers and acquisitions; Environment, Health and Safety regulations; pharmaceuticals; hazardous waste handling and disposal; and environmental enforcement defense. He has also assisted clients with water and air permits and compliance, citizen-suit litigation and insurance matters.
Tomasi has represented clients dealing with complex issues arising under the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the federal Superfund law, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Wisconsin Environmental Policy Act. His experience also extends to mining law, greenhouse gases and emergency response and compliance counseling. He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and Illinois, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Tomasi is the chair-elect of the Wisconsin State Bar’s Environmental Law Section. He received his J.D. at Duke University School of Law. He also presently serves on the board of directors for the Milwaukee Science Education Consortium.
