
Marjorie Rucker is the executive director of The Business Council Inc., which is located in downtown Milwaukee and helps ethnically diverse businesses grow through supplier diversity initiatives in Wisconsin. The Business Council is the new home of Scale Up Milwaukee, which hosts events and accelerators designed to promote inclusive economic development.
Rucker is also the current chair of the Ethnic and Diverse Business Coalition, a coalition of 15 chambers of commerce and community development financial institutions that help ethnic and diverse Wisconsin businesses start, grow and thrive with the goal of elevating these businesses to be globally competitive.
“Marjorie considers the entire state of Wisconsin as her playground,” said Nubian Simmons, founder and CEO of The Pink Bakery Inc. “From influencing policy to affecting change for minority businesses in Wisconsin to providing technical assistance.”
Rucker serves on a number of boards including the African American Chamber of Commerce Wisconsin, Legacy Redevelopment Corp., MobiliSE, Jewish Family Services, Mount Mary University and the City of Milwaukee’s Board of Zoning Appeals.
